Services
Ambassador rugs was established in 2014 as an alternative to the higher-priced rugstores in existence in Tucson.
The purpose of Ambassador Rugs is to offer new and lightly used hand-knotted rugs at much better price.
We don't advertise much relying on word of mouth marketing, friends telling friends works very well for us, it also helps keep the price down.
Our specialty is tribal rugs from the many tribes and sub-tribes in the Middle East.
Tribal rugs are made by nomadic people who drive their sheep into the mountains in the summer and onto the lower elevations of the plains in the winter, of Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, India and many more including the Caucus mtns.

Traditional rugs are likely what people imagine most often when they think of an area rug.
Full of intricate designs and bold colors, traditional rugs are not lacking in vivacity and artistry.
They come in all types of patterns, colors, and styles.
Sometimes a traditional rug is simpler with uniform shapes and borders.
Every traditional rug though, is very unique, telling its own story, making its own statement in a room.
Traditional rug techniques have been passed on from generation to generation of rug maker and eventually the style was adopted in North America in the 19th and 20th centuries.
Transitional rugs are a mix between traditional and modern.
They usually include a touch of the traditional style and motif with a flare for the contemporary in color and simplicity.
Transitional rugs stick to more neutral tones like beiges, browns, whites, and blacks.
However, there are some transitional rugs in vibrant reds and blues- but their patterns remain elegant and simple.
Transitional rugs can fit in any type of room because they are meant to be beautiful, versatile, and elegant no matter where they are displayed.
Several motifs that tribal weavers have incorporated in their designs retain features of an ancient artistic style.
This style made frequent use of real and mythological animals and birds, and of parts of these creatures, including heads, antlers, and horns.
Art historians have given this style various names, depending on factors of time, place, and stylistic emphasis.
In its broadest meaning, it can be called "zoomorphic."
An appreciation of some motifs found in more recent tribal weavings depends on an awareness of this ancestral art.
